I was watching the Bills/Oilers game last night (if the Titans are going to wear those unis, I'm calling them the Oilers), and it occurred to me that Seahawks fans have seen this movie before...
-High first round pick spent on a superstar college QB from an elite program (UT's Vince Young was 3rd overall pick in 2006, Notre Dame's Rick Mirer was 2nd overall pick in 1993)
-Kid looks great that first season (Mirer was 1993 AFC Offensive Rookie of the Year, Young was 2006 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year)
-Some slippage in 2nd season, but still reason to think things might work out (Mirer yards and completion percentages dropped, Young tossed 17 ints v. only 9 touchdowns)
-In year three, they go complete Chernobyl (Mirer chucks up 20 interceptions; Young gets benched after one game, looks completely rattled)
-By year four, your one-time franchise savior is no longer even a competent NFL QB (Mirer's QB rating plummets to 56.6, Young looked like absolute garbage last night in Canton)
We don't know what the future holds for Vince Young, but we know one thing: No one is going to be stupid enough to trade a FIRST ROUND PICK for the dude. Heh. Thanks for Walter Jones, Chicago! Sausage-chomping, Ditka-fluffing morons...

Will anyone ever forget Raibles line of "The more people say Rick Mirer looks like Joe Montana, the more I'm beginning to believe it."
