The main mission of this blog is pretty simple, really. I try to seek out and destroy idiocy directed at the Seattle Seahawks, either from outsiders or from so-called "fans" who spew nothing but negativity and despair.
You know this type of fan, and if you're here with me, you probably can't stand them either. The type that booed Hasselbeck last season. The type that always assumes the worst. The type that has a knee-jerk negative reaction to any type of Seahawks news. If these Eyores won the lotto, they'd complain about the taxes they have to pay on the winnings. Then there's the asstards who refer to Ruskell as "Timmay." Jesus. The front office and coaches aren't above criticism, but I do think they deserve the benefit of the doubt given the team's recent history, don't you?
I started out over on Seahawks.net, and I eventually got booted/left because I just couldn't stand the negativity. Far too many Seahawks sites are still festooned with commenters who see the bottle of Jones Soda as half empty ALL THE TIME. I don't ever want DKSB to get like that, which is one reason why I moderate the comments section here.
In addition to the negativity, there's also a subset of fans who shy away from boasting about being a Seahawk fan, who fail to defend the team when attacked by outsiders, and think the football gods will smite them if they publicly state that anything good will happen to this team.
Fuck that noise, I say! I am a Twelve! I believe in this team! I believe that they are going to rise up and take back this division, and the rest of the NFL had better be on notice that Seattle Aint Bullshittin'. If you are one of these Negative Creeps, you can ply your oozing black despair elsewhere.

Fellow 12th man here, and am all the way on the same page with you here. I'm originally from Seattle (yes actually Seattle, not Edmonds or Bellevue) and moved to San Francisco almost 3 years ago.
Something happened to my Seahawkness since moving here, making me foam at the mouth whenever the Hawks aren't given the respect they deserve.
I am about as proud and loud as they come with being a 12th Man, and anyone who spews negativity towards my team will be hearing it from me in a big way.
I can't get enough of the blue and green and will continue waiving that flag until I die. GO HAWKS!

Good thing your not over at .Net anymore. There was a thread posted the other day saying Lawrence Jackson should be cut despite the fact that he was hurt his entire rookie year and was a first round draft pick.
I'm not always happy with what the Seahawks do, and I don't think we have a 13-3 Super Bowl team this year(I've been wrong before), but dammit, this division is ours, and its time we take it back.
Glad to see there are plenty of like-minded twelves out there, guys!
Aside from not much caring for Ruskell or his direction of the team since his arrival,...I can agree with and echo your sentiments.
Trakar: Yeah, I don't much care for 3 straight playoff births including the best season in franchise history culminating in a conference championship either.

I'm a 12! I hate that dude who does the Timmmay! posts. Go be a Rams fan or something. My freakin' license plate is HAWKGRL for goodness sakes, so I'm on board 100%!!!!
Absolutely 100% on point, although Timmmaayy! is one of the smartest characters in South Park, and I use it as an honorific. And no, I'm not one of the whiners. Mr. Ruskell arrived with the glass less than half empty (although I think The Big Show had drafted Hutch, Alexander and Tru, so he had something to work with) and has delivered the 3rd best winning record in the league over the last decade.
Anyone else notice how well run this franchise is? What a short memory the whiners have for the Patera/Behring years? Uh oh, I'm getting dangerously close to whining about all the whiners...
Legitimate playoff team as is, a few breaks made by better conditioning and being assignment correct and we are a legitimate Super Bowl threat. By a 40 point margin over the Stealers, of course...
